Funding and ownership

Our rule

We take no money, of any kind, from political parties, campaigns, candidates, PACs or super PACs, or from any government. Advertisers, sponsors, foundations, customers and readers are welcome on the same terms: each one above $1,000 a year is listed here with an amount band, advocacy groups and industry associations are capped as a group for each political leaning, and money never decides which bills we check, how they’re checked or how a flag is worded. Nobody sees a flag before the public does.
