Accessibility statement

Last updated November 1, 2026

Everyone should be able to read what’s in a federal bill. We aim for Porkbarrel.ai to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we do

  • Plain language, short sentences and clear headings on every page.
  • A “Skip to content” link, labeled navigation landmarks and a logical heading order.
  • Pages are built to work with a keyboard alone and with screen readers.
  • Text and controls meet AA color-contrast levels in both light and dark mode, and color is never the only way information is shown.
  • Layouts reflow to 320 pixels wide and text can be enlarged to 200% without losing content.
  • Quoted bill text is marked up as text, not images. Share images repeat their key text in the page itself.
  • We check pages by hand with a keyboard and at phone and desktop widths.

Known limits

  • Long bill sections can be hard to scan. We show the exact wording that matters and link to the full official text.
  • Links to Congress.gov, GovInfo and other sites go to pages we don’t control and may be less accessible.
  • Share images made for social media contain text. Everything in them is also on the linked page as plain text.
  • Some links open a new tab without saying so. We’re fixing this.

Tell us about a problem

If something on the site is hard to use, or you need the content in another format, email hello@porkbarrel.ai with the page and what went wrong. We aim to reply within 5 business days and to fix problems as quickly as we can.
